Though local roads and expressways have the traffic enforcement camera (speed camera) installed, there are other ways that the police enforces the traffic regulations such as checkpoints, police motorcycles and patrol cars. The police not only uses the usual police car which is obvious to see, but also some special cars called "undercover patrol cars" that are disguised in luxurious cars such as LEXUS or Porsche.

*The traffic signs shown on the right mean "No Parking".
*Do not park the vehicle around that area.

*Illegal parking is a very serious problem in Japan. In addition to the police, parking inspectors in green uniform crack down on the illegal parking. They will put the sticker (shown on the right) on your vehicle, even when you leave your car just for a minute.

The sticker shown on the right means that you parked your vehicle at a prohibited area. If you see it put on your vehicle, please complete the following procedures.

Go to the police station and pay fines.
Get a receipt from the police officer and show it to us upon your return.

●If you fail to complete this procedure, you will be charged with JPY 50,000 as penalty when returning the rented vehicle.
